Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about Jiaobei, the app, and the customs behind moon blocks.
Is the Jiaobei app free?
Yes. Simple casting, wishes, the Guanyin and Wong Tai Sin 100-lot collections, local history, cultural reading and the incense widget are free on iPhone. Formal rituals and Apple Watch casting require monthly or lifetime Pro. Fortune verses and interpretations are in Chinese.
Are the results messages from a deity?
No. The app generates randomized results for cultural learning and reflection. They do not predict or guarantee real-world outcomes.
What do sacred, laughing and negative blocks mean?
In common interpretations, one flat and one curved side up is a sacred result; both flat sides up is laughing; both curved sides up is negative. Local interpretations differ.
How does Formal mode work?
Simple casting, wishes, both 100-lot collections and local history are free on iPhone. Browse Formal mode for free; starting or continuing a ritual, or switching collections there, requires monthly or lifetime Pro. The guided sequence includes incense, permission, drawing, three consecutive sacred confirmations of the same stick, and reading. Existing matters remain available to view, delete, back up and restore after access expires.
Is Pro a subscription or a one-time purchase?
Monthly and lifetime access include the same paid features. Monthly access renews automatically; lifetime is a one-time purchase. Buying lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription. Manage subscriptions and restore purchases through your Apple Account. Confirm local pricing in Apple’s purchase sheet.
Do I need an account?
The basic app does not require registration. See the existing privacy policy for details of data processing.
Do records sync automatically?
Export and restore Formal matters manually using Files. This is not automatic backup or live sync; Simple History, settings and purchases are excluded.
Can Apple Watch draw sticks or perform Formal rituals?
No. With Pro, Watch supports hold or shake casting and transferring records to the paired iPhone. Wishes, fortune sticks and Formal rituals are available on iPhone.
Can I use moon blocks in a browser?
The free online tool provides basic casting, explanations and the latest 50 browser records. It does not include the app’s wishes, fortune sticks or Formal mode, and browser records do not sync with the app.
